My daughter handed off both of our ballots yesterday morning at our local polling place and as of now neither has been marked as received; I'm mostly ok with the local results right now, so I hope they don't change much as SF lethargically updates counts. We won't even get another update until end of day tomorrow.
Scientists (or anyone) of Mastodon: I dropped a can of carbonated water as I walked back to my desk and now I have to be on a call for an hour + and can't go get another one. How long do I have to wait to open it so it doesn't spray everywhere? I searched the Internets and got 20 different answers.
I love when politicians know they'll never be running for anything again and then they just feel like they can say whatever the fuck they want. I look forward to the Hillary and Joe podcast where they just laugh and trash people all day long.
I'm not sure I've ever cried watching a convention - certainly not as much as I have tonight. I hope Biden just lets them clap for 20 minutes and then leaves.
me from the nice air conditioned train: what a nice summer day, it would be fun to go sit by the river (checks the temperature and realizes why no one is out there).
this has been a weird trip. The West Coast Amtrak cars are really on their last legs. Power outlets are not working (I always have a power bank, amused to watch all the panicked people). We're just pulling into SLO and they had to stop and turn off the train so they could take one of our engines and give it to another train that needs it!
@luis_in_brief@kingrat@eniatitova I think the city should put all the tax receipts they receive into one account and then hold daily public meetings all year round so we can all tell them where we want our tax dollars spent.
