With snowshoeing season over and spring backpacking around the corner, this is a good time to head south for some fun in warm, clear water! I’ll be mostly off the grid for the next week or so.

I returned last night from a wonderful trip to the British Virgin Islands. Spent a week on a sailboat, sailing to four islands, and snorkeling and scuba diving off of two of them. The weather cooperated nicely and I thoroughly enjoyed the warm clear water!! More pics to come! #sailing #ocean #scuba

Two of the islands that I sailed to had small rock islands near them. Once the sailboat was tied up at each main island, I then took the dinghy to the nearby rock island to scuba dive. Here are pics from below the surface as I dived around one of those rock islands. It’s a different world underwater! #ocean #scuba

The lone frog that is now entering its fifth year in my backyard pond finally "warmed" up to me today and allowed me to get to a 20 ft (6m) distance for a pic before it quickly disappeared beneath the surface of the water. The sun is out, making everything warm-- a great day for a frog!

All of the recent snow here in SE Massachusetts has remained on the ground making for great snowshoeing conditions. Enjoyed a sunset hike this evening, snowshoeing through a local forest. With all of the snow that fell here recently, I got my snowshoes out almost as fast as I got out my snow shovel. Trucks have finally plowed out some local trailheads and I was able to get out into a forest yesterday and snowshoe! Stuck mostly on an established trail, but also explored a bit off trail along the edge of one of the lakes. So great to get out on the snow! #FootpathFriday #snowshoeing #winter

Heading off tomorrow on my annual "pilgrimage" to the Colorado Rockies! This trip is built around a wedding I will be attending that will take place partway up a mountain at 10,200' (3,100 m) elevation. Bride was quite pleased with the speed/enthusiasm with which I responded to the invite! Just *might* find time to do some hiking and horseback riding in the days before/after the ceremony! 😀 ⛰️

Another day, another hike! Chose a lower altitude hike today while we still acclimate to the altitude. Hiked in the foothills of Rocky Mountain National Park up a canyon. It was absolutely bone dry on yesterday’s hike and with an intense sun. Felt like hiking in the desert. That didn’t seem to stop these beautiful flowering plants from growing — the open fields and trail were sprinkled with the yellow plants adding beautiful accents to the landscape! #Colorado #mountains #BloomScrolling

Hiked a beautiful trail today just outside Denver at the Red Rocks Park. Stunning rock formations throughout the loop. No bad views here! Checked out the amphitheater as well that is surrounded on three sides by tall rock formations. What an amazing venue to have a concert! #Colorado #nature #hiking
