Skye saw some of her friends watching the eclipse and knew she had to join in. She says as added bonus, the glasses hides the gunk they put on her eyes yesterday. It was just a partial eclipse here but the Senior Professor enjoyed it nevertheless.

She’s been resting lots, eating, pooping and having a nice quiet day here. (I was just giving afternoon meddies to her here when I snapped the unobtrusive shot 😉) It’s been the perfect day for recovering 🥰❤️.

Skye is enjoying the buffet on her watermelon cushion. To minimize the risk of choking again, we are cutting her food with a pill cutter several times and elevating her food to buffet level. She is pleased and continues to eat robustly. ❤️ #SkyeLove

Worth every feeding every three hours for 12 days, worth the $1200 procedure that at least got her sharp points in her mouth shaved down, worth it all for this moment. ❤️

We called her Skye 8.5 years ago after we rescued her because the black spots running down her back reminded us of the Milky Way. 🌌💖

Good morning friends, I was on the move this morning, no time for pictures. I’m slowly feeling better every day. Rain and more record breaking rain here. -Skye 🩵 #SkyeLove

Just a little update.

Skye has dental work this coming Thursday booked. Her tiny dwarf mouth has lots of issues as she ages. Until she was displaying symptoms our vet recommended we defer work, but the time has come where her breathing is affected and we don’t have a choice.

There is risk 💔, but she also can’t go on without treatment. She is otherwise really healthy.

If you can spare a thought for her this week, especially keeping her in your heart Thursday, we would be ever so grateful. ❤️

Five minutes after the picture of her and Sitara was taken Skye choked, likely due to inflammation, saliva from dental issues, and having a snack. A five minute emergency drive to vet. Won’t disclose the speed or state. Our vet saw her right away, stabilized, gave oxygen, and after icu all day is home (pictured here).

Recommend for all animal parents to review ways to address choking❤️.

Vet is closed tomorrow, dental procedure still scheduled for Thursday. Peaceful, hopeful thoughts please.🙏❤️

It is, unfortunately, a dark day here in Alberta for human rights.😞

A notwithstanding clause within Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms has been used by the United Conservative Party in power in legislation passed early in the morning. Teachers have been fighting for better conditions for both children and educators, striking for 3 weeks with no strike pay. Teachers have been ordered back to work and to accept a contract 90% of them had already rejected.

We had a neighbour burying something in the back yard two nights ago after sundown (waited until 11:30 pm as sun sets at 10:07 pm right now) so it was dark… she and a man buried something at 11:30 pm and when it was all done she carefully raked and raked so the ground looked undisturbed.
