Are there any good alternatives to Distro Chooser these days? (https://distrochooser.de/en/) Many years ago, I had also recommended LibreHunt.org, but it's no longer available.
I find it amusing that: -Xbox Game Pass doesn't work on Windows Copilot+ PCs.
-Tech outlets are suggesting cloud gaming as the "solution" for gaming on these devices.
-Multiple Microsoft-developed games like Flight Simulator, Halo Infinite, and every single Forza title aren't even listed on the gaming section of the "Windows on ARM Ready" site.
I don't know if these incorrect password responses come from Fish or from Garuda, but either way I'm highly amused! Got a great laugh out of this today!
It's too bad Bazzite isn't reporting as its own unique distro. I hope that changes because it would be awesome to track its growth. I mean, they had DAY ONE support for the ROG Ally X, and all told it's a fantastic Fedora-based distro especially for handhelds.
I'm also surprised to see Pop OS declining this much in gaming marketshare.
I have roughly 100+ video/article ideas from before Linux For Everyone went on hiatus. A "Myth Busting" series was one of them -- but I only made it through #2.
Which one should I do next?
(And yes, I know #10 is contentious but it needs to be addressed!)
It turns out that if you move to another country AND no longer have the recovery phone number tied to your account, Google isn't too keen to let you log in to your YouTube account.
27 days down, 3 to go...
Guess I should start brainstorming what to cover, eh?
People are now having "Install fests" for Windows instead of #Linux, after becoming completely overwhelmed trying to navigate the 107 setup screens (which include 14 pitches for various services and subscriptions) required for a successful Windows installation.
For years I’ve argued that desktop #Linux really needed some professional marketing to raise awareness. Never could have imagined that in 2024, Microsoft Recall and Apple Intelligence would be the high-profile ad campaigns Linux needed 🤣
Am I imagining this, or did there used to be a Linux distro that let you install it right from Windows. I’m not talking about using Rufus, etc, to burn an ISO to USB in Windows. IIRC this distro actually had an installer you could use in Windows, then reboot into your shiny new Linux install.
