One of my highlights of yesterday's Mapping USA online conference was osm.kids, a map using #OpenStreetMap that's made for #children! If you're zoomed in, it highlights things like playgrounds, fire stations, schools and ice cream shops.

When you zoom out, you see city and country names and flags so you can learn all about those!

It is so creative and I love it. osm.kids demonstrates so well that you can make maps with OSM that you cannot make with any other map tools out there.

Reddit rejected my question so here you go #SaltLakeCity: considering buying a used EV. Any particular local shop you can recommend that knows EVs and can a solid pre-purchase inspection (battery state of health, charging, motor diagnostics)?

Hypothetically, If I were developing a social check-in app like Swarm / Foursquare but based on 100% OSM POI data and easy ways to contribute data improvements back to OSM, what would be a cool name for it? Asking for a friend.

The stuff you make time for when you're unemployed

I have had a #bluesky account for a bit but had never used it. I posted a few things on there and followed a bunch of people. It's a smooth UX but I have questions:
- I immediately felt like I was (back) in a bubble of left-wing political commentary / clickbait. Most of it not from anyone I started following. Is this an algo thing or is that just the makeup of the user base right now?
- What is its enduring value prop other than 'it's not twitter'?
What are your experiences?
