@PNS this reaction is also an indictment of current parenting. I am going to sound like a geezer saying this but “When I was a kid” my old man would have taken that back, and all my other presents, and then for Christmas given me his boot up my ungrateful ass.

@GluedToTheScreen @PNS funny story… I know a guy who when he was 8 or 9 figured out the myth, and told his 5 y/o sister. He went around Nov. & Dec. saying “Santa’s not real! What’s gonna happen, Santa isn’t going to bring me presents? Ooooo… I’m scared”.

Guess what happened? Christmas came… no presents for Duane under the tree, nothing in the stocking. He got NOTHING! Figured his folks would cave after a day or so… nope. Needless to say, lesson learned.

Watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” and it dawns on me as I am watching the real hero of the movie is Mary Bailey. She is the glue that is holding George’s life together.

She saved the building and loan by handing out their honeymoon money, she rounded up all George’s friends when he was in trouble with the bank examiner, whenever George was in trouble, Mary was there.
