Commercial search engines crawl and index your web content, monetise a search service, and (used to) play fair by providing traffic back to your content through hyperlinks.

Fast forward to today and we have AI companies using your web content, compressing it into machine learning models and playing unfair; providing little or no traffic in return.

need less talk about "gmail" and more talk about "gee how easy is it to switch to a better mail provider - one which isn't attached to google?"

people have been talking in some spaces about the web kind of disappearing - have you tried to go past page 10 on Bing or a meta using it recently?!?!
