The documentation clearly states that if the user supplies a string longer than MAX_PASSWORD_LEN, the buffers will overwrite system memory with the contents of the password, allowing remote shell access. This is not a bug, and changing it would mean I would have to write code. Plus I already wrote the docs.

@cwebber @rusty__shackleford @soatok I think the "the output length limit is a precondition" definitely stinks of AI, confusing pre and post like that. Either that or somebody is incredibly incompetent.

Resulting, now, in a situation where either someone has to admit how dumb they are or admit they let AI write this, which will result in a double down of angry denial, most likely.

@unelsson @gamingonlinux Absolutely, although knowing Debian, "stable" probably just got release 0.1 and "testing" is probably a version behind and about to be abandoned, so you use a third party repo that totally rules for about 8 months then stops getting updates but you don't notice until you start reporting bugs and see they're already closed and in release.

When I say it's the "end of an era" do I mean the era of Apple making fun computing products? Do I mean the era of "competition in the personal computing space?" Do I mean the era of "having your own computer that you control at all in any way whatsoever?" Well sorta, yeah.
