    🌱 IT'S FINALLY HERE!
Some of you have heard me talk about the slice-of-life altnow solarpunk short fiction series I had been working on. Well, the collected edition is finally out now!
While you will always be able to read the entirety of the story on my blog for free, there are some additional perks to the epub version. You get the cover art. There's a whole section dedicated to the inspiration and process of turning a three page short story into a twelve chapter novelette. And you also get the original short story that started it all!
I hope you'll consider giving The Greenhouse Museum a place in your digital library. Until next time, stay safe and sane out there!
    Find it here: https://byrdbrnz.itch.io/greenhouse-museum

Once upon a time, I met a small-time farmer who sold garlic at a Seattle farmer's market. At that time I thought all garlic came in one variety: small and white, the kind you find at the grocery story. Garlic was garlic. There wasn't much variety.
This farmer blew my mind with the varieties they had. Black garlic, elephant garlic, French red garlic, Bulgarian garlic, purple garlic; all the different varieties in all different sizes. The best part is that he knew which varieties would go best in what I was cooking. Their face lit up as I was all too happy to learn what they knew about this precious plant.
I went home with three different bulbs. Don't remember what varieties they were now, but I do remember that farmer. I remember wanting to be as dedicated to a plant as they were. To feel the same kind of joy in sharing knowledge.
Maybe its time to plant some garlic now that I have my own tiny patio garden.

@malwaretech At the risk of being shouted at for defending their ignorance...I can kind of get it. I think if most of us soul-searched hard enough we'd get it too.
At least where I grew up in the heartland, most of them didn't have any resources but were constantly promised them. If only they vote for Republicans! It would be rare for a Democrat to come in and make any funding promises to them. And usually there aren't many Democrats running locally, very few of those local elections are a contest. Most never seemed to bother being in or staying in those rural areas. Why bother voting for them when they've never done anything positive for you locally? To them, at least Republicans try.
We can blame Fox and the RNC for a lot of national ills, yes. Blame the church and the Prosperity Gospel too. They are all factors.
But when you come down to it, they feel left behind by the Dems and always have. There is no third option to better represent their actual interests. So of course you vote for the devil you know
