Email is working again and I did my GNU tasks and it feels I can finally rest for a while. However, before I go to sleep, I should remind you that @fsf has a global mission to promote computer user freedom and liberate all people from proprietary software. This goal can be achieved with your donation and support. Please, if you can, donate a little or become an associate member.
One of the reasons I don't want a baby is that they don't come with a manual. I mean if it gets broken, how should I read the documentation? And how much can I modify it? There's no license coming with it. Is it free? Is it proprietary? If it's free, is it GPL licensed copyleft or permissive Expat or BSD? Man it's a hell lot of problem.
The Free Software Foundation (@fsf) will soon be unable to operate on Twitter as Twitter will be shutting down third-party apps, which includes free (libre) apps.
They value their freedom over their computing. You should too. One step is to abandon and leave Twitter, and other steps can be live a pure life and avoid other proprietary programs you're using.
Matrix is too slow for me, specially when it comes to share media. XMPP is somehow hard for people to use and nobody around me uses it. Telegram is a no-go. That leaves me with Signal. I don’t like their policies specially regarding how they handle third-party apps. Guess there’s no private messenger to use after all.
I’m dressed formally and people seem to like that more than t-shirts and jeans but I feel uncomfortable. Feeling uncomfortable and getting compliments vs feeling comfortable and nobody pays attention.
@lxo exactly. Our ideas change when we are presented with new facts and knowledge and there’s no shame in it. It actually shows we’re growing and not close-minded.
Btw, I always get happy when I see you read my posts and reply to me. You’re one of those people I always admired and it makes me happy that you interact with me.
I was always against de-platforming people. I was one of those people who protested against removing Trump from Twitter. I was one who protested against limiting hate-speech instances. I always thought removing people is dangerous. Now I believe I was wrong. Removing some people from some platforms is one of the best tools we have to protect humanity from harm. I admit I was wrong.
There are protests in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini, a young girl who was beaten to death by morality police. This is not the first death happening this way.
Just letting you know what a right-wing fascist government would do if they get power. This is what happens when Marjorie Taylor Greene’s favorite regime gets in power.
