this is why AI for art, for writing, etc, is so dreadfully misguided. it is a miracle to be a human in an awkward, curious struggle to reach out & touch your fellow humans. human connection is fraught, and it is astounding. what a strange privilege it is, to know and to tend to the needs of others

the, come si dice, "discourse" around AI for accessibility/alt-text is so spiritless, so desiccated. one of the great pillars of Being Human is finding empathy and spectrality and wonder in other Humans — the manual task of writing careful, magnificent alt text is a prayer of empathy and joy
