I have been accused of being "far left".
I want:
== free healthcare for everyone
== billionaires to pay higher tax rates than schoolteachers, nurses, sanitation workers
== housing for everyone
== a decent, free education for all who want it
== serious action on climate change
== a universal basic income which lifts the poorest out of dire poverty.

In fact, come to think of it, in a bankruptcy, the debt is also written off. Let the company default on its debt, THEN take it back into public ownership.
But you haven't given up. Why not?
They can't stop an "informal" referendum. Of course, it wouldn't be binding, but if a majority of Scots want independence, It's hard to see how England can refuse. That's the key: can we get 55% of the people of Scotland to vote "out"?
And by the way, the sooner Scotland is independent, the better.
@CloudyMrs From taxes. But the current plan going the rounds is shareholders would ALSO be paid off, and that is unconscionable.
Yeah, I know. But the debt can be assumed by the government and paid off over the next 3 decades. Still not good, though. What a catastrophic failure neoliberalism has been.
They should let Thames Water go bankrupt, then nationalise it for one pound.

Michelle Obama said: "when they go low, we go high". Admirable. Unless "going high" means that fascism and dictatorship win.
I don't think we should insult ordinary ppl who support the #GQP. But #DictatorTrump should definitely be a trending tag. And if #SmellyTrump and #SenileTrump start trending ..... excellent.

Former fund manager and economist. Deeply alarmed by the climate crisis. Neo-liberalism has been catastrophic for our civilisation. I mostly follow back.
