Can Mastodon please implement blockquote formatting etc? I really want to write markdown on my Pleroma instance, and not worry about how Mastodon is not going to format quoted parts of posts correctly.

And quote-posting. Pleroma just does the usual web page previews, thus resulting in decent equivalent of quote-posts. Hence my confusion about all the drama people made about “nuh Mastodon should not support this”.

I’m already annoyed that my Pleroma instance is not doing the right thing with showing Friendica posts, breaking them terribly when my friend is reposting some of the posts.

Or that Pleroma doesn’t seem to notify the original poster that I mentioned them by pasting their post’s URL. (It could just put it in recipients field in ActivityPub activity and object…).

But I suppose I’m most surprised that blockquote doesn’t just work.

(For example, this paragraph is supposed to be visually distinct from the rest of the text in this post. I used the > syntax in Markdown.)
