Someone -- I have no idea who -- had disassembled the bike and distributed its parts throughout the garage, so Chester was in a panic digging through everything looking for them

You can't post about feeling bad on the internet because half the people who read that will feel weird and keep scrolling and the other half will treat you like you are a delicate baby who needs to be protected from bad feelings at all costs

The local paper of record breathlessly describes a new restaurant as having "lines down the block."
Nothing could make me want to avoid a place more than waiting in long lines and it being the hot new place in town everyone wants to be.

Funny thing is it turns out it's easier to ride my bike to the gas station to get gas for my car than it is to drive my car to the gas station

Bike riding miles this week: 103/60
I not only made up for the 34 miles I missed last week, I got a few extra in there, too

@tomjennings I heard an NPR piece the other night about how Etsy's sales are tanking and they're having to refocus their business -- because their pivot toward becoming a marketplace for third-party sellers of cheap junk hasn't worked out. Surprise, surprise, people don't want another Amazon when they're trying to buy handmade stuff

Aliexpress sent me one of its marketing emails this morning and now I'm looking at discount silicon lip embroidery practice lips.
I don't have any need to practice lip embroidery (an insane euphemism for semi-permenent makeup, btw), but I feel like I could have a lot of fun sticking 99-cent lips in unexpected places.

We don't have much here in LA that sits abandoned for long because real estate is so valuable that as soon as it's not being used, it gets repurposed for something else.
But we do have an abandoned campground that's owned by the US Army Corps of Engineers. It's an interesting place to ride a bike around.

@botvolution I don't know if you're building a bicycle light or some kind of modular synthesizer thing, or something else entirely but this is how I wired everything up for the bicycle light. It runs on 5 volts just like that. I just only drew four sets here instead of eight because I was lazy and you get the idea

We have a dolly at the theater with these angled-style metal casters on it, and it got me thinking about how I occasionally see them on old mechanic's creepers, but not really anywhere else.
It's also got me wondering about the design. Why are the wheels angled like that? There must be a good reason

@steter I wouldn't be at all surprised if she was the one who did it or was in on it. I don't think i'll actually get it back though. Or if I actually did, it will be a disaster because it's been lying out in the weather in someone's backyard for the last two years
