I don't know what the goal of replying to almost a month old post is to continue the discussion I haven't replied to any further. To apologize for being wrong? (I disagree with several points, but writing on them will increase the replies, so I'm not interested in continuing.) To edit my post? (You can click on the time stamp and read what I edited to continue posting on it anyway.) To feed trolls? (Folks will argue I was the troll to start with, so that isn't productive either.)

To quit Mastodon? (As gentle as I can put it, kick rocks.)

@georgetakei Of course not, GOP during their presidencies have been the primary accelerator of the National Debt. What is stupid is they expect Democratic Presidents to cover their bill.

Robert Reich might have it right: just stop tracking the National Debt altogether.

@georgetakei It has been true since the 1990's multiculturalism push I experienced as a kid. No matter the intent, most proponents of the movement was white authority figures who only engaged with other cultures on a surface level and encouraged either taking traditions from other cultures wholesale or mocking them for their "clearly superior American culture counterparts".

The assimilation of indigenous cultures is particularly longstanding and egregious. And part of why I feel abolishing Roe vs. Wade is stirring up Christian Nationalism: among other strategies, if they put a stranglehold on civil liberties as soon as possible and adopt or abduct children from people of color, LGBTQ couples (those who can conceive, or reverted adoptions), and undesirable political and religious opponents, they can merely breed their opposition out.

An excellent reason to join the fight with Indigenous people: expanding that playbook is always possible.
