We have a lot of open source hardware and firmware repos now, so we updated our GitHub profile with a directory of the main ones for Framework Laptop 13 and 16: https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/
Our products are now available for shipment to Denmark, Finland, and Sweden!
With this launch, we’re adding Danish and Swedish/Finnish keyboards that you can order now with a Framework Laptop 13 or as a standalone Keyboard or Input Cover Kit. For Framework Laptop 16, these keyboards will be available in late July this year.
We're excited to share a preview of a Framework Laptop with a new CPU architecture today, and it's not the one you probably think it is. DeepComputing is creating the first partner-developed Mainboard, and it's powered by a RISC-V processor!
Shipments start this August in all 14 countries we're currently in, and a fully refundable $100 deposit is all that is needed to get in line. We'll also be opening ordering in Denmark, Sweden, and Finland in June!
We've permanently reduced the prices on our AMD-powered Framework Laptop 13 models and remaining inventory of 13th Gen Intel Core and introduced new configurations of Ryzen 7040 Series DIY Edition with the 2.8k display, available for pre-order today: https://frame.work/products/laptop-diy-13-gen-amd/configuration/new
We're excited to announce the latest Framework Laptop 13 with Intel Core Ultra Series 1, an optional 2880x1920 120Hz display (ideal for 2:1 scaling on Linux), and new configurations for businesses with 3 year warranties. Pre-orders are open now.
Our production in Taiwan is temporarily paused to prioritize worker safety while our manufacturing partner checks for any impact from the earthquake today. We're hoping for the best for our friends, colleagues, and partners across Taiwan. 🇹🇼
"Crap! HDMI Forum Rejects Open-Source HDMI 2.1 Driver Support Sought By AMD"
"The HDMI Forum has rejected our proposal unfortunately. At this time an open source HDMI 2.1 implementation is not possible without running afoul of the HDMI Forum requirements."
We built the world's first 180W USB-C power adapter without realizing it. We just thought the new EPR standard was an obvious win, so we designed an adapter around it for Framework Laptop 16. We now have the adapter in stock in the Marketplace: https://frame.work/products/16-power-adapter?v=FRANCR000B
You can pick it up in the Marketplace, or purchase it on our Factory Seconds Kit page. Factory Seconds laptops are currently available in the US, Canada, and Australia. We’ve also posted a video explaining more about what Factory Seconds are and what B-stock looks like.
