Mammoth 2 is ....just about ready!

@rolle @mammoth 🙏algorithms allow us to bring order and structure to what would otherwise be overload. As mastodon grows it will become more important to have good algos that serve the user. That said, the mammoth for you feed is mostly built around smart lists, which are curated lists around a specific topic. The algo part is that we apply a minimum engagement threshold on each smart list when we merge it into For You.

Threads can be to ActivityPub as Gmail is to email. This is a rare oppy to rebuild a key part of the internet on better foundations (maybe even in time for the onslaught of AI- and Trump/Russia-generated junk), as long as mosseri & co stick to the fedi vision (when has big tech ever led us down?)
