TIL that in 2003, when the Blaster computer worm was spreading, someone made another worm called Welchia that exploited the same Windows vulnerability. Welchia would delete the Blaster worm and then download Windows updates to close the vulnerability.

#TIL that shrews aren't related to rodents but rather hedgehogs and moles. This means that they are more related to cats than mice, which is confusing because in Swedish these are called "beak mice" (näbbmöss.)

As expected, working with dates and times in SQL is complicated. Learned some useful functions for PostgreSQL, but the sad part is that most of them are DB exclusive (so I will need to learn each of them depending the RDBMS I am using)

I'm going to talk about Goths. No, not the subculture people dressed in black, nor the Germanic tribe.

Goths are a type of pub (public bar) in Scotland, that are owned and run by a local trust. Typically, the profits from the pub are directed towards causes in the local community.

The name is a diminutive of Gothenburg Public House System. The system originated in Sweden as an attempt to reduce alcohol consumption, and direct money to local causes.
