KWCH: 6 measles cases confirmed in SW Kansas, according to KDHE
"...WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) confirmed on Thursday that there are now six cases of measles in the southwestern part of the state. The first case was reported last Thursday.
The KDHE said the affected counties are Grant and Stevens. No patients have been hospitalized at this time, and all six cases involve unvaccinated individuals. This marks the first measles outbreak in Kansas since 2018...."

“As of Jan. 17, public health officials reported that they had documented 66 active cases and 79 latent infections in the Kansas City, Kansas, metro area since 2024. Most of the cases have been in Wyandotte County, with a handful in Johnson County.”
In a statement, #AmericanAirlines said there were 60 passengers & 4 crew members aboard American Eagle #Flight5342, which was en route from #Wichita, #Kansas, to #ReaganNationalAirport. The aircraft, operated by PSA Airlines, was a CRJ-700. “Our concern is for the passengers & crew on board the aircraft,” the carrier said in a statement. “We are in contact with authorities and assisting with emergency response efforts.”
The US #FAA said on Wednesday night that a PSA Airlines regional jet collided midair with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while on approach to Reagan Washington National Airport.
PSA was operating #Flight5342 for #AmericanAirlines, which had departed from #Wichita, #Kansas, according to the FAA. According to American Airlines' website, the jet has a capacity for up to 65 passengers.
