Day 17 of the #SoftwareFreedomFestival. It's not just about code. It's about freedom. The freedom to use, study, share, and improve the software we rely on every day. When we choose #FreeSoftware, we choose a future where technology serves humanity, not the other way around. Let's make that future together. #GNU#FSF#SoftwareFreedom
It's Day 18 of the #SoftwareFreedomFestival. Let's take this moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the tireless activists who have been the backbone of this cause. Equally deserving of our thanks are the dedicated contributors who have poured their skills and passion into making software that respects users' freedoms. Your work is the lifeblood of this movement. Let's pause and reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us here. #FSF#GNU#FreeSoftware#SoftwareFreedom
Heading home from the GNU 40th anniversary celebrations, but this doesn't mark the end! It's been a vibrant reminder of our shared commitment to free software. Let's carry this energy forward and keep the momentum going. Advocacy for free software is a continual journey, let's keep pushing for user freedoms every single day make every day a celebration of our computing freedom! #GNU40#FreeSoftware#FSF#GNU#SoftwareFreedom
Props to the Chief GNUisance Dr Richard Stallman, founder of the GNU Project and the Free Software Foundation, and creator of the philosophical scaffolding of software freedoms and copyleft.
Without his work, we wouldn't even have this decentralised space - powered 100% by Free Code (so far) - to argue about whether he deserves props. Arguably the net as we know it could not exist.
#GNU is one of the most diverse, and amazing projects, and it has been amazing to meet so many hackers sharing the same vision over the years.
It is a true privilege, and honour to be part of this journey, despite the looming disaster that is computing today. We have come long, and we have a long way to go before we can get a truly free system.
Happy September 27! Celebrating the 40 year birthday of #GNU today! On this date in 1983, Richard Stallman started the GNU Project and set the wheels of the free software movement in motion. 4 decades later, we're still pushing for software that empowers us, not restricts us. Free software remains our north star, guiding us towards technological freedom. Let's keep pushing forward! #FSF#FreeSoftware#SoftwareFreedom#SoftwareFreedomFestival
Happy Day #8 of the #SoftwareFreedomFestival! Imagine a world where all software is free. A world where we can study, modify, and share code without restriction. A world where software serves the users, not the other way around. This isn't just a dream, it's an achievable reality! Let's not just dream it, let's build it. Together, we can make software freedom a reality for everyone! #SoftwareFreedom#FreeSoftware#FSF#GNU
