#Trump & allies have attacked #NationwideInjunctions & the frequent use of them to block #Trump’s [illegal & abusive] agenda. But before he came into office, Trump & allies celebrated similar rulings against the #Biden admin’s deportation policies & social media outreach. Both parties have relied on nationwide injunctions to curb the agenda of those in power.
Both #Trump & #RFKJr, the #HHS secretary, have been falsely claiming that #Democrats have done nothing about high #drug#prices. Democrats passed legislation to allow #Congress to negotiate on the price of some drugs in #Medicare during the #Biden administration.
In fact TV Dr Oz is now pointing to the #IRA [Inflation Reduction Act] which was the Biden bill.
Damn, man, this is some West Bank shit. This crap was only supposed to happen to Palestinians funded by US tax dollars (amirite Biden/Harris?) not at home in the United States. How did we ever end up here?
#Trump is all over the place as usual. He has insulted #Biden, went on a long tangent about #Obama’s presidential library in Chicago, brought up California Governor #GavinNewsom repeatedly calling him “Newscum” — something he loves to do.
Trump refused to say how he knew the #Houthis were backing down. “They’ve said, ‘Please don’t bomb us anymore,’” then added that it didn’t “matter” where he heard the information but that it came from a “very good source.”
#Trump’s #budget calls for a ~20% cut in the #IRS’s spending next year, a change that could force the agency to lay off even more people & struggle further to collect ~$5T in #taxes every year. The annual IRS budget is separate from a long-term set of funds, created by #Democrats in 2022, that #Republicans have already succeeded in slashing. The #Biden admin dedicated roughly $80B toward revitalizing the IRS over a decade; Republicans have already cut or frozen roughly half of those funds.
The program had gotten a major boost under #Biden’s #infrastructure#law. But Trump claims the money was “heavily earmarked by the #Congress for projects that are ultimately not repaid into the program, & bypass states’ interest & planning.”
Major changes to the #FBI: The #Trump#budget proposed cutting more than $500 million from the FBI, declaring that the admin “is committed to undoing the weaponization” of the agency that it said occurred under the #Biden admin [weaponization = law enforcement]
A boost in #defense: Even as many domestic programs see budget cuts, Trump’s 2026 plan proposes increasing #military spending by 13#, to $1.01 trillion for 2026.
“Under the deeply flawed priorities of the #Biden administration, grant recipients used the funding to implement race-based actions like recruiting quotas in ways that have nothing to do with #MentalHealth & could hurt the very students the grants are supposed to help,” said Madi Biedermann, the dept’s dpty asst secy for communications.
