Not quite sure how the volume of dirty dishes increases about five times when the number of people in the house has only doubled. 🥣

So once I have this plugged into an older Mac, it will be a beautifully ridiculous string of dongles and adapters.

The ultra-cheap USB—HDMI capture stick arrived just now. And it seems to work with the ultra-cheap VGA—HDMI adapter! Wowzers!

Here we have a PowerBook 3400 showing its startup screen in the Zoom settings window, because I am completely not set up for real video capture yet and am just trying a proof of concept :D

Ohmygoodness, this is very silly :D

One of the most amazingly wonderful things about modern computers is that so many devices just *work*. No setting up. No drivers. No twiddling and diddling. Just plug in a new printer or video capture card or scanner or mouse or floppy drive or phone or what have you, and it’ll just magickally work.

Okay, yes, Mastodon definitely needs a better search function. Trying to find posts from a few months ago is just dire.

Oof. There's a IIc monitor up on the ebays for $25, and even accepting offers. Looks like it may well need some work. But absolute killer postage almost $90, and would it survive a transatlantic voyage? :S
