    I think you wanted this, a background fix. Although this isn't an official guide for this because I can't generate clear examples.

    When using a real photo background (or a neat clean drawing) of buildings in image2image you can "fix" the messiness of the buildings. Yes you can set the strength to 0.99 and it will still work

    First two images were without image2image, the tags seem to have overpowered the "asanagi" tag art.

    3rd image was a real life photo used in Image2image.

    Last two were what was generated from it. While the backgrounds are sketchy the line work is a lot straighter than usual.

    This can be done with any background to fix the "blobbiness" it generates. Works well with cityscape backgrounds as it fixes the lights and makes skyscrapers appear more straight. #zemAI

    A person on 4chan rediscovered the wheel and found out this technique again

    However, this person also used the newly added vibe transfer on NAI along with the technique. Which may strengthen this technique.

    In a previous post (not in this AI thread) I had mentioned that vibe transfer could be used as a type of pseudo-image2image at extremely high values and when used along with a base image of the same type makes the image extremely hard to change. There wasn't any known use for this until now thanks to this post.

    Anyway let me explain. Here are the steps:
    1 - take a reference image and use the noise technique (check the link and this thread above to see how).
    2 - set SMEA (and possibly DYN) to on.
    3 - use the reference image (the one without noise) and use that as the vibe transfer image.
    4 - use the tags you want for the image, poses, extra details on in your reference, whatever
    5 - set reference strength to some value in the 0.40s in vibe transfer. (The person used .45, I'll explain what this value does in a minute.)
    6 - generate images until you have an appropriate one.
    7 - inpaint out the reference image and inpaint and details to fix.

    There, a finished image using only a reference image.

    To explain what "reference strength" is the best way to understand it is to use it at high values with a well known character image as the vibe transfer. What happens is that the subject in that image will look like that said character at high reference strength values.

    At lower values of "reference strength" it is helpful in allowing the AI "freedom" to adjust the image in a different way. As you can see in the poses in these example images.

    Vibe transfer really strengthens this technique to the point of it being fairly usable. And the "texture mapping" technique happens to work somewhat, not perfect, but you can see the :back_from_gab: present in these examples. #zemAI
