    Because the expectation that family may care about vulnerable people is a product of societies and economies unable to establish actual nets of solidarity.

    When a family cares it's good...But if we have gotten used to no-one caring that we delegate it to the family, that's bad.

    It was quite some time ago...And now I'm actually crazy lucky...Just gotta get used to it.

    Also I still think that it's good that institutions exist, but we should never forget what they can turn into.

    I actually was once.
    Someone called the police as I was half-heartedly trying to anhero and they forced me to come with them to the station.
    They kept gaslighting me into staying in more and more confined spaces (don't be worried we will only hear you out and you can go home. Don't be worried our Doctor has to look at you, you won't be institutionalized. Don't be worried you won't have to stay in the hospital. Don't be worried you will be treated in an ambulant manner. Don't be worried it's gonna be the open psych ward. Don't be worried we just need to keep you in the closed psych ward for a month..two tops) and when I acted confused about how it all went down they decided I was schizo.

    Luckily their stupid questions where pretty darn transparent...like "Do you believe in Aliens?"-Tier transparent.

    I got out after just a few weeks of masking and found out that my right to drive has been revoked.
    (Had to pay a fuckton to get it back)

    But now I can use the word "Kafkaesque" to describe things that actually have happened to me so I'm clearly the actual winner.

    That may be.
    You can get PTSD-like thingies from all kinds of experiences.

    They don't need to be "objectively bad", sometimes "bad to you" is enough.

    Also when it comes to relationships, no matter the kind, in which the communication wasn't mutually beneficial, you may not know yourself if something was "bad to you" for quite some time to come.

    And the trauma may also hit you, when something is long over.
    That's one reason people tend to believe that being able to take time for oneself can make one miserable.

    But I think that the Psyche needs time to heal, like everything else does and therefore takes the time, when it can get it.

    To me, the most painful part about that was how little I could do about it in the moment.

    It's exhausting because interacting is exhausting anyways.

    I'd rather deal with what people choose to show, than all of their dirty laundry.

    All of a sudden you would not only be responsible for what's between you and the interacting party..but what's actually INSIDE of their head
