apparently, the guy doing the decomp for starfox 64 tried using recomp but it "doesn't seem to support overlapping vram addresses for overlays. Although wiseguy says it's gonna be supported soon."
@icedquinn if you want some CRAZY longform content and like elder scrolls, check out patricianTV. dude has insanely long and detailed videos, sometimes spanning multiple parts.
most of the time i watch long form content though, it's either in chunks or it's while i'm doing something else. no different than listening to a podcast or an audio book, with a niche subject i enjoy or am interested in.
@Mr_NutterButter hmmm, apparently the outfits that were censored actually haven't been uncensored, it's just that these two new ones have been added that are quite revealing. so this is extremely misleading.
Almost done with my first complete playthrough of my game. I've put hundreds of hours into this part of development alone. The balance still feels a little bit wonky, but it leans on the easier side which is what I intended. I did just make a nerf to status conditions and adjusted the mage class' leveling to be slower so that will likely make things a little bit harder than what they have been so far. If a player wants a bit more of a hardcore RPG experience they can always turn up the enemy scaling. I have two easier modes right now but I'm considering getting rid of them, or one of them, since the normal mode already is a little easy.
Anyway, I'm going to go through 3-4 more dungeons and then call it good for this playthrough. At that point, I'll be getting a trailer ready and figuring out how to put it up on Steam so that my contributors can check it out and receive easy updates. Once I'm done with the second playthrough and I've got some good feedback from the rest of the team, that's when l will open up applications for the last round of beta testing. Not sure how many people I'll accept yet.. I think it's better to go for diversity in play style and experience than sheer numbers.
I'm getting real close. Every time I open up the game to test it I'm reminded of that. It'll soon be the end of an era.
@icedquinn i too did game dev instead of going to bed on time tonight. been happening more often recently, but i'm not as annoyed at being tired the next day when it was a conscious decision to stay up.
@LukeAlmighty@xyfdi that was definitely back in the day when it was cool to have detailed death animations, dead space popularized that.
i liked the game because it was like a grittier uncharted. tomb raider got inspiration from indiana jones, uncharted got inspiration from tomb raider, and then tomb raider got inspiration from uncharted. then, uncharted got some inspiration from tomb raider again but did it worse xD the stealth parts in uncharted 4 suck ass.
