@kaia finding an online review that discusses microphone quality in any meaningful way is super difficult. i’m looking for a comm headset that makes me sound good, doesn’t look huge on cam, and works every time. music listening and gamer features irrelevant. will be watching replies 👀

@kaia this is a neat idea, zero footprint mounting if you got a spare ram socket! don’t need to duct tape it to the side of the case 😂

@kaia I have fond memories of it, I thought it was an excellent device. But that might be 90% nostalgia? It had a plastic belt holster that protected the screen and had a magnet that put it to sleep when you clicked it in… also a really nice design

@kaia i think it’s there to protect the wire and lamp socket, which might not be able to handle the full current from the wall… maybe they got away with extra-thin wire while still having electrical safety approval

never seen a plug with a fuse like this in north america before — pretty neat. it is on an ikea light. sliding cover to access the fuse can’t be opened when it’s plugged in.
