@jacklaridian@MevsMatze Looks like this may get fixed in an upcoming version, then. mstdn.social is on an alpha release of Mastodon 4.3. We're on the stable release of 4.2.
@jacklaridian@MevsMatze What instance is that? It's possible that they're not up to date. HorrorHub implements all Mastodon releases for the sake of security within 24 hours of release.
I wish there were a non-announcement way to only post to local. In absence of it, I'll be using the #HorrorHub tag for all instance related posts. I want to remind the new users on HorrorHub to feel free to report problem accounts. I will respond ASAP. I'm just one guy running this whole thing and what started as a nerdy curiosity has quickly become something I consider an honor and responsibility for the #horror community. I appreciate all the words of support. <3
I think the problem with Twitter for me was always that people talk about belonging to communities on Twitter. That's not something I've ever had. I've been on the platform since 2008 and just never fell into a group. I lurk because people attack each other too readily. Honestly, I haven't felt like part of an online "community" since I was active on IRC 15 years ago. While I don't feel a big difference yet on Mastodon, it has more potential than I expected.
