Yes, "tankie" is a derogatory term, specifically against Marxist-Leninists. If you weren't referring to Marxist-Leninists, then it doesn't make much sense to use the term. Why do I call myself a Marxist-Leninist (I assume that's what you were asking)? Because that's what I am. I believe in the political theories of Marx, Engels, and Lenin (and Stalin), making me a Marxist-Leninist.
Our society is more and more splitting up into two classes โ Bourgeois and Proletarian โ and the relationship between them isn't one of collaboration, but one of constant conflict. The discourse is over. Pick a side.
Why is this tagged with the #tankies hashtag? While I do believe that Marxist-Leninists and other leftists should have voted for Harris out of strategy, even if they all voted for her, that wouldn't have been enough to get her elected. It isn't "tankies" that you should be primarily blaming. It's 1. The Democratic Party themselves for running on a horrible platform, and 2. The millions of Democratic voters who refused to vote for Harris to prevent Trump from being elected.
I know that there were many reasons why Trump won the election, but can we all agree that the attempted assassination on Trump was a significant factor in him getting reelected? Can we all take from this the lesson that ""heroic"" individual acts of violence, like assassinating politicians, are stupid, short-sighted, and more often than not don't produce the intended positive effect, but instead produces unintended (yet easily foreseeable) negative consequences?
When it comes to religious beliefs, what religious people believe is just as much, or even more, of a problem as their insistence on others believing as they do. The beliefs themselves are the source of their behavior. If the beliefs aren't dealt with, then the behavior won't cease.
What I just read from "Promise # 4" of the Project 2025 Manifesto basically amounts to, "You're allowed to be free, but only within the parameters of our narrow Christian views...blah blah blah [Insert U.S. Constitution revisionism]...blah blah blah COMMUNISM BAD, MARXISM SCARY!
The Democratic Party is a status quo party that is dedicated to preserving capitalism, whereas the DSA is a reformist party that strives towards the goal of democratic socialism. I don't really like either (the democratic party supports the status quo that I hate and the DSA doesn't go far enough due to its reformist nature), but I favor the DSA over the Democratic Party because it's closer to my political ideals.
I assume by "his" you mean Jesus' teachings. If so, I don't think it would be a net positive. Not only did Jesus hold some beliefs that weren't good (the concept of original sin is one example), but in addition there would still be the whole "belief without evidence" thing that, in my opinion, is the main problem with Christianity.
The meme is visually showing the difference between the two mainstream parties (Republicans and Democrats, but the emphasis is more on Democrats in the meme) and left-wing alternatives (Communists and Anarchists) as they pertain to their treatment of transgender people. That's why the Republicans and Democrats are on the same side, or at least that's what I infered from the meme.
It's not portraying leftists as half of the electorate. It's just showing two sides, one with Republicans and Democrats and the other with Communists and Anarchists. There's no implications in the image that this is supposed to represent Communists and Anarchists as half of the electorate. You just pulled that out of nowhere. Also, all Communists don't abstain from voting. I'm a Marxist-Leninist, and I voted for Harris(as a means of strategy, not because I like her).
It isn't just Evangelical Christianity or even Christianity that's bad. It's all spiritual and supernatural beliefs that are harmful to people's ability to discern fact from fiction by promoting belief without evidence.
Where in communist ideology is homophobia promoted? Who said it? Was it Marx, Engels, who? Which Marxist ideologists declared that homophobia was an aspect of communism?
What is homophobic about communism as an ideology? The answer is that there is nothing homophobic about it because it doesn't focus on homosexuality at all. Some communists are homophobic, but "communism" is not.
All communists aren't homophobic, and in fact, many communists are allies of the LGBTQ community. If you were stating the opposite, then yes, you were indeed wrong in that regard.
