@ayoub Understood. What do you think an honest, vibrant, and just leftist platform looks like; one that would appeal to a stressed-out middle class that is clinging to its status, or lower-wealth people who are understandably locked in a fight or flight framework and ready to blame “the other?”

@ayoub Drumph’s numbers going down by more than 9 million since 2020: noted. Not sure that Dems didn’t appeal enough to the right. #harris’ mention of American military’s “lethal force” as a priority (rather than peace-keeping or de-escalation?); neoliberal calls for “earning” the right to pay for healthcare and retirement; highlighting economic “opportunity” rather than economic justice; and little mention of climate do A LOT to speak to conservatives.

@ayoub Then again, you’re right. What has to be said or conveyed to conservatives so that they would vote for a black/brown woman as Prez? But can we not also say that #Harris’ loss was due to #Mysogyny and #racism? Can we conclude that Harris’ run was successful in that it creates more possibilities for what is possible in 2026, even within a culture of #fascism ?
