@supernovae@universeodon.com@Mastodon@mastodon.social then you should've specified by organic followers. Furthermore, Calckey will be an exception to that, as we're working on transitioning to ScyllaDB -- the same database Discord uses.
@supernovae@universeodon.com "the biggest toot"? In the entire fediverse? How are you measuring that? Also, the most followed account rn is @Mastodon@mastodon.social as far as I can tell. I did have a look at your uptime and latency historical stats via fediverse observer and they seem perfectly good, but there were definitely slowdown spikes, reaching up to 150ms of connection latency. Furthermore, it still performs worse in benchmarks, so far you've been able to scale fine to 70k local users (~20k active), but what about 700k? 7 million? Ruby can't scale that far. Node can.
@supernovae@universeodon.com@coachtony@me.dm am I wrong? Mastodon has a really bad rate limiting system, that other software doesn't suffer from. Not to mention the myriad of other Masto-specific problems.
@kino@fedi.intkos.link yeah, that's just the way irvine is. You either pay exorbitant amounts for a livable situation or you get "affordable" housing infested with cockroaches and fire ants. There's no in-between.
@kino@fedi.intkos.link jeez, my 2 bed 1 loft apt is ~4.2k/mo (split between 3 ppl thankfully) in Irvine (south of LA), just goes to show how much location can inflate housing...
@pixel@desu.social I see that you're using a modified Calckey™ Network® instance running the ILLEGAL fork "Mastadon", for this I've reported you to the FBI :cirno_police:
@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social agreed, hence why both are platforms I don't expect to see greatly discussed (especiallly in direct comparison) from a FOSStuber.
@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social that's fair, but both are proprietary platforms (AOSP/custom roms account for a miniscule percent of users). "oh no apple bad" isn't the best mentality to have, but there's valid reasons why people hold that sentiment.
@thelinuxEXP@mastodon.social I disliked the video personally because it's not the type of content I'd like to see when subscribed to your channel. I subscribed for FOSS news, coverage, reviews, etc, not talking about proprietary platforms. Is that not what the dislike button is for?
