Like seriously this is one of the things I hated the most in #Linux. If you wanna run #Windows programs in #Wine you essentially need to have both a 32-bit and 64-bit userland. So 32 and 64-bit libc and other essential libraries Wine needs... That's definitely gonna lead to #dependencyhell in the future once you have to do a major system upgrade :koishtare:

Oh and with this good news I guess it's not that far-fetched to imagine i386/i686 getting fully deprecated on all Linux #distros (including #Debian proper) huh? :sagume_think:

@crashglasshouses@tsukihi.me I'm referring to those people who just constantly parrot about how Facebook would be endangering the privacy of fediverse users with their scraping (despite the fact that ActivityPub wasn't really designed with privacy in mind which is a shame, and there are way more sinister and technically better ways for FB to do that other than via Threads that aren't really trivial to develop countermeasures to if they really wanted to), and those who constantly fearmonger about FB pulling off an EEE using XMPP as an example (despite the fact that corps wasn't the only major factor to its downfall but also the complacency of the rest of the XMPP federation).

Now if you're vocal against FB due to Rohingya or just simply because you don't like their moderation or don't want to make their job easier while fully aware they can always scrape your data in other ways anyway, then that's completely different and I have no problems with that justification. Tbh more discourse should be on that direction; anything else is distraction.
