I also thought about my husband's experience as a black guy living in Japan. He was often questioned by a police officer and I was often picked in a security line at the airport when travelling with him.
And, of course, I thought about myself being an Asian immigrant in the States... There's so many elements in this.

I have a black daughter like him, so it was very interesting and I had a lot to think about.
My daughter went to a local school in Japan a few times, 2-3 weeks at a time in summer, and was very popular. Her experience looks quite the opposite to the boy's, but is actually similar. She was popular as an outsider. She wasn't fully accepted as one of them, but more like a special guest from America.

Went to the Boston Japan Film Festival today. There were two films about black people living in Japan, one was a collection of black adults living in Japan and the other was about a black Japanese kid who was bullied in new school.

今朝起きたら頭痛がするのでコロナ検査もしてみたら陰性。急に寒くなったので風邪をひいたみたい。
雨なので娘に急に学校に送ってくれと言われ（いったん徒歩で家を出たのに足がびしゃびしゃだと言って帰ってきた）、パジャマのまま送り届け、朝ごはんを食べてからもう一度ベッドに…と思ったら、今朝Zoomミーティングがあることを思い出し、慌てて声だけで出席。
というわけで、10時前にまだパジャマのままです?
