@givenup @narada @tyler @BowsacNoodle @Hoss @threat @thegreatape This all made a bit more sense when it was the 17th century and the White man (Dutch) was finding a new continent full of gold every couple decades.

@BowsacNoodle genuinely sucks. We’re all going through it. Won’t give us the time back just because it’ll end someday.
Stay strong. You might not know it, but you’re a whitepill on the fedi.

@BowsacNoodle Thinking is evolving in a way that is much more communal and specialized. Each of the founders was well read on the Greeks, now we have swaths of people that are educated in peculiar genres of thought talking to each other instantaneously and simultaneously. You've got third-hand knowledge on the history of the Early European Farmer you picked up from a chain of knowledge sharing that lets you understand a meme about the neolithic age and the agricultural revolution. It's creating a much more holistic viewpoint of the world and it's only spreading out. This is the kind of thing people used to have to go to cities to get through socialization, or universities to access the depth of knowledge, but now wide and deep it is spreading out everywhere.
The fact Tucker's opinion, knowledge, and talking points on Russia are much closer to the right-wing internet consensus than the establishment or any mainstream dissident perspective, the fact that you can trace the outlook of powerful people through a chain of media that gets back to consensus-building platforms on the internet, says a lot. Even if the narrative is that they're all gatekeepers, they're coping with a much more powerful force, and I don't believe they're all totally gatekeeping, because it is a much more powerful force. It only makes sense that more and more people are aligning with it.
And this is all happening extraordinarily fast. We are 2020+4 and think about everything that's happened. Kanye was two years ago.

@BowsacNoodle Those didn't stop America from turning out like it did. All of the founders were educated on the classics, all of them were Christian, all of them were very smart and all of them were good intentioned, it's fair to say. They were the pinnacle of their time, they were the best men the New World had to offer and they were the product of the greatest cultural period since the Greeks. So my view is that's not enough to keep things going off course. I also don't think everything that's happened since has been bad.
Things are moving very quickly, and it's hard to describe an actions consequence as it's taking place. Just think about Musk buying Twitter, Kanye kowabunga-ing off the plantation, and Tucker interviewing Putin. Bukele retweeting wojaks making fun of his opponents. I think big gears are shifting. I think it's a "the old world is dying, the new world is struggling to be born" kind of thing. I'm not certain what the future looks like, but I think it looks a lot more like the way and the stuff we talk about. In a lot of ways I think it's going to be more digitized, and I don't just mean physically. I think there's a way of thinking which is emerging which is kind of like when people learned to read in their heads (which wasn't always a thing).
It's really hard to describe and it's going to be realized more through action than talking about it, but this is my rough outline.

@BowsacNoodle The internet has been a better tool than the Gutenberg press for breaking centralized control of narratives and information. Not just the raw facts but the ability to discuss them in large groups. We’ve managed to form an entirely new consensus more thorough than the one produced by television, and the effects are still yet to be fully felt.

@sickburnbro You can’t have good things in the mainstream. Society has been built in such a way as to incentivize the rise of the scum of civilization and created moral narratives incentivizing their inclusion in everything. You would need a group that was the antithesis of everything society says is good and then you would be on fedi.
