@WarnerCrocker From memory, there is very little dialogue in Rendezvous with Rama novel, but vast swathes of exposition as they explore the deserted alien vessel.

He’s signed up to adapt the book to film. So he might have an essentially dialogue-free vehicle in that.

Also, statements like this suggest that the press tour for Dune Part Two might have been a tad too long. All the sensible stuff had been said when they rolled into London.

I wonder what will emerge from the New York premiere!

Complaining about Biden or Starmer because they are not your ideal candidate given the alternatives, just baffles me.

Either will be better than Trump or the Tories for another 4 years.

@dsilverman @WarnerCrocker It’s in my Apple One sub. I’m in the middle of a process about whether to drop to a lower tier that doesn’t have it. There might be enough value to keep it. New Scientist for example.

I don’t want to get round paywalls. I want to pay what I think is appropriate.

@WarnerCrocker That news media extinction level event article in The New Yorker is grim. I read it in Apple News after hitting their paywall from your link. Which says a lot about the problem.

I wish 99c micropayments for an article where a thing. With about the first third free. Of course that would likely lead to structural changes that put interesting facts and opinions below this digital paywall fold.

Instagram has been as flakey as fluck recently.

Currently failing when I try to post my Weekly New Music post. Notifications have been very laggy recently, too.

Maybe working on Threads and the infrastructure needed to host and run it is impacting Instagram services.
