@Lizette603_23 that's actually a stripped down version of Flipboard called Briefing. Try downloading the full app from the android store.

@mollyanglin try searching for flipboard.com and select the profiles tab to see the list as it stands now. As new curators are federated we will encourage them to post links to their magazines ideally with a common hashtag. We'll also do more to feature great magazines to follow.

@Defiance @kevinrns @Flipboard Yes. We ensure this through a tremendous amount of human and algorithmic moderation that, while not perfect, has scaled nicely over the past 14 years as we've built Flipboard. WRT publications, we manually screen domains before they are able to be recommended algorithmically. We also explicitly disallow domains that we have identified as having hate speech, nazis, racism, transphobia etc. As they say in computer science, "Garbage in, garbage out" so we actively work to proactively prevent toxic domains from ever entering our algorithms rather than trying to reactively deal with individual posts all the time which is a losing battle.

It's not a perfect system so we also rely on user reporting and take action without equivocation when appropriate.

@FlipboardUserGroup @bobmonsour Hi Bob, have you tried Reader Mode on iOS? It eliminates abusive ads and popups from web sites. Also you can mute any website that is overdoing it with ads so you won't see it again. This also sends a signal to our engine to potentially stop recommending that site in the future.

@DEDGirl @kevinrns Let be more clear then. We do not allow any publication which posts hateful content, violent rhetoric, etc. And to my knowledge no publication like that exists on Flipboard. We've done a far better job at moderating this type of content than most of the other platforms have ever done but as we all know there can always be people who get through. If you ever do see something like that please let me know right away so we can deal with it.

@salvomic You'll get an email in the next few weeks letting you know that your account and magazines have been federated with tips on how to promote your magazines so people can discover and follow them. There will also be an option to de-federate if you want to.

@DEDGirl @kevinrns What far right pubs are you referring to then? We don't allow pubs that traffic in these things i.e. Alex Jones, Breitbart, etc.
