@inthehands I don’t get how the JP Morgans of the world aren’t freaking out and getting Trump and friends to stop? How are the brain worm people holding such sway? Is the Kompromat really that damning?
@inthehands I’m fighting against this all the time with my daughters. The older one who is a senior now doesn’t think she’s a math person, while the younger one who is in third grade thinks math is awesome. I think it has something to do with bad teaching because there’s no freaking way it came from gender policing at home.
@skinnylatte@minmi it’s the “if you build it THEY will come” crowd, who, without a single shred of evidence, assume that all services attract outsiders, rather than serve the population at hand. It comes from the mindset of “we’ll protect our own, but no one else” followed by the failure of insight into how homeless populations really develop in a community, so it’s gotta be people being bussed in since nobody in MY cohort could possibly be one missed paycheck away from total calamity.
@inthehands@dragonsidedd@su_liam I always used to distinguish between the two modes of thought as dogmatic vs. introspective belief. That takes all the cultural baggage away and leaves you with a contrast between frameworks.
@skinnylatte Right? This could be fantastic news for future cancer and Alzheimer’s rates going down. The olds really don’t want to admit how spectacularly unhealthy their lifestyles have been.
Tonight, as Kamala Harris delivered her inspiring acceptance speech, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and hope for our nation. Her powerful words at the Democratic National Convention have cemented her vision for a United States defined by compassion, unity, and resilience.
Kamala and her Vice Presidential nominee, Tim Walz, have called on us to return to a time of unity, to help our neighbors, and to drop the rancor that has become so toxic in our body politic. This is the leadership that can transform our country.
Let’s stand together to support this historic ticket by donating today. Every contribution helps us move closer to a presidency that values civility and brings us together. 🇺🇸
Any #writers here? Are you fans of Scrivener, or Ulysses, or perhaps Obsidian Notes? Looking around for a writing system that will be future-proof. Also love the idea of using Markdown because that’s what my blogs all use now. #writing#writersofmastodon
@inthehands Just had a really good experience using ChatGPT 4.0 to help me learn AWS services and setup an architecture to a particular spec. I didn't run into many non-sensical answers, but I did need to verify everything and check that the produced responses would actually satisfy the requirements. The main error was incorrect order of operations. Some commands depended on certain resources already being created. The ML-aided generation of IaC would be a very good use-case to focus on.
@gerrymcgovern If they weren’t such big monopolies, incentivized to make money from our profligate picture taking, big cloud would be training ML models to help me pare down my ridiculous photographic proliferation.
