@codeDude personnally i never had whapp, and i heavy prefer missing information than increasing their user's database.. #xmpp > all.

I'd like to use only #xmpp but my family and friends use meta services, work parners use slack and telegram, most of the open source comunities uses #matrix, and I need to use all of those services :blobcatgoogly2:

Did you ever know that if you have a @SDF shell account you already have a #XMPP account with your user name as a handle and all you need to do is set up a password?

In #SDF #Jabber server are created from the shell with the 'maint' utility.

1. Log in to the password server by running the maint program.
2. Type o to select optional features and social networking
3. Type j to set your Jabber password.
4. Quit from maint utility and wait one minute.

I've noticed that, for me and my wife at least, #Signal isn't always reliable for time sensitive messages. Even after exempting it from the Android power saving and everything it's almost like it goes to sleep sometimes and notifications don't pop until we open it up. The #XMPP app Conversations.im however is very reliable. Running a packet capture on my phone shows that when switching networks #Conversations immediately reconnects, but Signal doesn't, sometimes for several minutes.

We have been on boarding many people to #XMPP using #Quicksy and #Prav apps.

Most people happily join but some people complaint their username is their phone number and if they forget to set a nickname, their phone number becomes public if they join any public groups.

We like the auto discovery of contacts using phone number.
