In the month of Remember,
rain drunk poets dream dreams

like unwanted puppies in a rucksack,
like eggs coddled or soft boiled.

The muse rocks her delirious breasts to sleep.
Her arms crush the meaning moons to gorgeous death.

Shall we iron smooth the tiny seas

　2023年11月10日発売『別冊少年チャンピオン』2023年12月号で『ダーウィンズゲーム』の後日談となる読み切り作品『ダーウィンズゲーム #rain's epilogue（レインズ エピローグ）』を読んだ。本編も完結してよかったし、エピローグもよかった。そのあとのインタビュー記事は途中まで読んだけど、けっこう長くて最後まで読むのをあきらめた。いまは心に余裕がないので。

#Rain!!! 2x in a week, and lasting more than half an hour now. It's cause for huge celebration. 🎉😃🎈 Could it be an actual piece of #Arizona #monsoon?? 🤞

Interestingly – and given my increasing and yet still rather limited sample size – it seems radon levels are higher during rain.

(I got a real-time radon sensor a little while back to see what the levels are like in our 70-year-old rental house. Spoiler: they’re not great but they’re within Irish safety limits. Not that there’s any safe level of radon, from what I’ve read.)
