I learnt to value friendship more than romance or relationship. But I don't know when that started. Feels like forever, and no, it was not a shyness or reluctance to engage. There are simply different things appearing in friendship and in romance, and I find those appearing (and building) friendship more interesting, and more touching, than those that come to light in romance.
