Categorically, factually untrue. I’ll assume you’re just misremembering and not lying with an agenda, but go back and replay it. Ike never stops talking about how much he loves niggers, and he’s a big supporter of Total Racist Death, only willing to work with people who are anti racist or like Jill are in the process of checking their privilege. Micaiah on the other hand puts everything on the line in service to the people who kill niggers for fun, and would kill her if they learned she was 1/64th cherokee, she doesn’t care. Yeah she talks about wanting to change peoples attitudes someday but her primary interest is in their well-being. Don’t forget that when ike and his army of diverse good guys shows up on her door she burns 6,000,000 of them alive rather than have her racist people suffer, so we know what’s more important to her.

But I want to challenge the idea that branded are metaphors for mixed race people. For starters, only beast laguz are slightly niggerish, and crows are kind of kikeish, but hawks are very upright and heroic and Aryan in their outlook, and dragons and herons are basically divine beings. But more importantly, what are Branded? In real life mixed race people are stupid, ugly, and insane. Branded are beautiful, semi-immortal, super strong or have enhanced magic, born with unique powers including communion with spirits, and oh yeah they have the power to make weaker willed people (beast and crow laguz mostly) flee at the sight of them, and they sometimes are born with swastikas on their foreheads. Doesn’t sound comparable to me, branded are a lot more like your semi divine mythological heroes like Hercules who you hopefully wouldn’t call mixed race for being part Olympian part human.
