@mattl I think Twitter is dead as far as participation from vendors like Nintendo. I'd be surprised to see any new Twitter integration.

Does anyone think the next Nintendo console will have a “find your friends” feature that targets anything that’s not Facebook and Twitter? Do you think they’ll even target Twitter?

Does anyone have any experience with the HD Homerun? Do you love it? Hate it? Thinking about new ways to watch Jeopardy and other occasional live TV without YouTube TV.

@maikelthedev My usage of Mastodon is changing. I want to be a consumer, not someone worrying about if my messages go through. The other day they weren't going through and that annoyed me into seeking out an alternative.

I don't suddenly hate everyone, but I also lost track of who I was and wasn't following, and who I have conversations with on here.

@seldo @mattl most people want to be on the server where all the usernames are the ones where all the people they recognize are

@tarajdactyl @seldo @mattl usernames are important to people, servers/instances make that harder. Either you use/force the use of a personal domain name (which won’t scale to publications and is annoying/wrong to many people) or you have a confusing mess of usernames. I have fairly reasonable expectation that I’m talking to you right now but who knows? Now scale that feeling to people fleeing Twttr. En masse.

@mattl people are SO STRESSED about having to pick a server, I absolutely do not understand it, I believe they find it difficult but I find it impossible to fathom why.

The clear message I am getting from Bluesky is that black people felt unsafe on mastodon. Black Twitter was a huge part of what made it special, and it's been notably absent on mastodon. I will be sad if mastodon loses to a less-open alternative because it couldn't figure out how to be welcoming to everyone.
