Android is nowhere near close to "mostly free" - all of the software in a typical Android install is proprietary software.
There is only one free version of Android, where developers have removed the proprietary software from each component and released a free version; https://replicant.us/
>how does people start using an operating system that is more free, rather than all proprietary, harm the free software movement?
If people start using an OS that is 100% proprietary and that is functionality very good at shackling the user and taking their freedom, rather than a free OS, that harms the free software movement.
>is the problem that pewdiepie failed to properly portray free software, and the movement?
Pewdiepie failed to point out that free software existed *at all* - he mentioned very few free software programs and in all cases insulted them by referring to them as "open source".
