@pernia@cum.salon @fwc@0.5dollah.click yeah, it isn't really clear why, but most vtuber companies are just notoriously awful at this. They cave to dumb shit all the time, throwing the member under the bus instead of supporting their investment.
I figure it's a mix of not having adapted to the changed power balance, and being more afraid of pushing away potential new fans than of alienating existing fans, since the latter would be placing a cap on growth opportunities.
The thing with big corporate vtubers quitting and having their fanbase come over to their personal accounts is a relatively new phenomenon, so companies used to essentially having absolute control over the member's persona haven't adapted.
