@ireneista the console was 1981. It ruled the Japanese market for a while because it had the Japanese market to itself. But then the SG1000, Famicom etc dropped all together in a similar window, and the Cassette Vision dropped away quick.
You can kinda think of Cassette Vision as a bridge between the pre-console "TV Game"s and consoles proper (two of the games were ported "TV game"s). So it's more like, it's 1982, you're trying to recreate cutting age arcade games using "pong" style hardware
