Old Testament typology example.
Exodus:
God delivers the children of Israel by the death of the firstborn, and they escape slavery by crossing the Red Sea. Then they begin their wanderings until they are finally brought to the Promised Land.

The life of the Christian:
God delivers us by the death of His only Son, and we receive this by Baptism. Then we truly begin our sojourn here on earth until Christ returns or we are called to be in Heaven.
