mccIt turns out in addition to the one big buddha Kamakura also has a large number of small buddhas, in a cave, and I almost went in but the ticket guy said when I asked that there were 70 stairs. Actually I'm not sure if that's for the cave or for the big shrine at the top of the hill but it's too many for my poor degraded knee cartilage so I decided to instead of getting myself trapped at the top of a stair-festooned hill instead to spend the remaining daylight heading to Enoshima
