Men and women need equilibrium, and I’m of the belief that past systems of relationships were in equilibrium. That is to say, I don’t believe men beat women into acting trad 200 years ago. I think trad politics have to be non-violent and non-oppressive. I think that’s why a lot of feminist policies were passed, even when women had no formal political power. Because no one put a gun to men’s head to get the 19th amendment passed, but men figured that would help. It wasn’t even a socialist country, they just figured it was a good idea. Why exactly is another question, but anyway.
So how we construct society into the future so men and women are equally happy is a big question. There has to be a negotiation, and rethinking of our ideas. Both ours, and societies as a whole.
