... if your website is example.com, then the blog-wide profile can be found at @example.com@example.com.

If I understand it correctly, the option just generates more feeds that can be followed in the Fediverse, one per author with the user name of the author.

So if your website is a one-man-show enabling both is a bit of an overkill.
