@lex I don't think this is quite the answer you are looking for but I have used the Mastodon List Manager from @acbeers combined with muted lists to curate my feed:

You can bulk add, remove, and create lists here. After you make the lists, you can then go your instance website and then you can hide selects lists from your main timeline. I've done this for news and journalists. Then I follow the list on @Flipboard to read later.
