@omasanori there was also an anonymous user on 4chan's /g/ technology board who was doing their own (much simpler) reimplementation of 4dwm on top of emwm for linux. I'm not sure if it has been formally released yet or if it's still being worked on but I have a snapshot of the source code from the middle of last year on my phone.
